Cryptocurrency Payment Gateway for WooCommerce Technical Stack: Back End: Node.js, Express, PHP, MySQL, Solidity (Smart Contracts), Web3, ethers.js Front End / Integration: WordPress, WooCommerce, MetaMask integration Blockchain: Ethereum (ETH), Binance Smart Chain (BNB) I designed and developed, from scratch, a WooCommerce payment gateway that accepts cryptocurrency payments, focusing on Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Coin (BNB). 𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗲.𝗷𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗣𝗜: Created a RESTful API in Node.js (using Express) to handle and validate cryptocurrency transactions using ethers.js. 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: • Wrote Solidity contracts to manage the verification of payment details on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. • Integrated Web3 libraries (e.g., ethers.js or web3.js) in the Node.js layer to communicate with the deployed contracts. WooCommerce Plugin Integration: Developed a custom WordPress plugin leveraging WooCommerce’s payment gateway classes to incorporate the Node.js API. 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: • Integrated MetaMask within the custom plugin, allowing users to sign and send transactions directly from their browser. • Implemented JavaScript code to prompt MetaMask users to approve payments and confirm the correct amounts (in ETH or BNB). 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: • Used test networks BSC Testnet to verify contract functionality and Node.js endpoint reliability. • Deployed the final version of the plugin and the Node.js API in a production environment, monitoring transaction logs to maintain a robust and secure process.
