Internship that responded to the needs of a multidisciplinary project aiming to develop AI solutions for crisis management. The work focused on ecological crises (hurricanes, floods, etc.) that has affected France (metropolitan and overseas). This internship was done in parallel of a first year master thesis where multiple tasks were done: • State of the art on NLP crisis management from social networks; • Creating a reference annotated dataset for crisis in French: ➪ Collecting a large corpus of a dozen ecological crises; ➪ Designing an annotation scheme and labelling ≈ 13,000 tweets; • Feature Engineering for Machine Learning models (Bag of Words, linguistic features, metadata...); • Implement and evaluate many supervised and unsupervised machine learning models. This internship was conducted under the direction of Farah Benamara (Associate Professor in computer science, IRIT, MELODI team).
