DRTVLAB was a company that collected and presented (data Viz) information for the indusctry of the Diresct Reponse Television (Teleshopping) in Europe. As founder and President, I was prime contributor of : • identify business opportunities and create the business plan • negotiate with strategic partners and shareholders • define technical architecture and source key providers • run the operations (customer support, data production quality supervision...) • drive the marketing strategy (product management, communication) Company results: - company created in December 2014 - choice of shareholders and providers in June 2015 - commercial launch in October 2015 - 31 TV channels over 3 geographic zones (UK, France, Germany/Austria/Switzerland) - Partnership with ERA Europe - 10 customers after 6 months of operation After having worked for big corporations for 15 years, I decided to embrace the challenge of creating and managing a start-up. This venture has also been inspired by my numerous projects and contacts within the start-up ecosystem. I partnered with TV Shopping veteran Marie-Laure Barrau that brought the in-depth understanding of the market when I was bringing technology expertise and methodology. This venture has been a fulfilling experience as I covered all the aspects of the creation and management of a business from ideation and business planning, to installation the technical platform, sales support and the outsourcing of some of the operations to Moldova. After having worked more than 18 months to build the company, we decided to hand over its management to shareholder Media Analytics that would benefit from economies of scale with its US operations.

• Market & technology studies (3D TV, European Digital Terrestrial TV benchmarks...) • Management of major innovation projects of French Digital Terrestrial TV platform: → Coordination of all TV industry stakeholders with HD Forum: TV channels (TF1, FTV, M6...), devices manufacturers (Samsung, Sony, Philips, LG...), regulation bodies (CSA, ministries), broadcast networks (TDF, Eutelsat, ISPs),… → Definition and choices of technical standards, edition of technical specifications, creation of tests suites → B2B and B2C Communication and events set-up By joining TF1, I wanted to be at the core of the Digital transformation of the Media industry with the first European private broadcaster (#1 audience in Europe). My first project was to lead the HD TV deployment over TNT (French Digital Terrestrial TV). This has been a transverse pan-industry project that required to coordinate TV channels, TV set manufacturers and regulatory bodies. As a result, one year after the launch, France was the country with the highest rate of HD TV households in the world. After this first success, I initiated the creation of a connected TV Standard : HbbTV. HbbTV is giving back the control to TV broadcasters over the internet content that is displayed on the TV screen, along their own pictures. HbbTV is now deployed all over the world and is the official national standard in more than thirty countries worldwide.
