Role: Cloud / Kubernetes / Big Data Architect Part of DATA IA Expertise Centre at Orange France My main job is to design infrastructure solution to help migrate data from Orange internal SI to Google Cloud Platform. Tasks: - Technical validation of countless GCP components: Dataflow, Dataproc, PubSub, Composer, Cloud DNS - Installation of a NiFi Operator on GKE / Kubernetes - Extended study on a solution to process the internal data and migrate it to the Cloud (including security issues to resolve regarding global network, and data criticity) - Study report done at high management level with budget management, technical choices explanation and discarded paths) - Automatize infrastructure creation in the internal IAaS using Terraform (VMs, Flux, Security Groups, Load Balancers) - Automatize Apache NiFi and Apache Kafka deployment using Ansible and CICD Gitlab pipelines - Automatize upgrade and cluster extensions of NiFi and Kafka clusters - Automatize SSL certificats deployment using intern self-service tools - 2FA activation on Apache NiFi (both SAML and OIDC) - Automatize Kafka applicative actions (create topics, manage acls, update mapping rules, change topic parameters) through CICD pipelines - Study and migrate to Kafka KRaft solution - Technical validation of a large panel of Hadoop components on a Kubernetes environment: Spark Operator,Kafka Strimzi, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Hive Metastore, Object and Block storages - Benchs to compare GCP Connected and internal CaaS solutions for all components - Design of Technical Architecture Document, upgrading the current architecture to use either internal Cloud and new ways of deploying infrastructure, or helping teams to migrate to Cloud GCP components altogether. Technical Environment: - CDH Express, HDP 3 - Apache NiFi 1.21 - Apache Kafka 3.9 - Apache Spark 3 - Apache Flink 1.20 - Gitlab - Ansible - Terraform - GCP (Dataflow, Composer, Dataproc, Big Query, PubSub, GCS, GKE, GCE) - GDC Connected (GCP on-prem)

Role: Big Data Architect / Tech Lead / DevOps The LUCID project main goal is to rethink and build the future of Hadoop datalakes, and to propose a group solution for all Societe Generale entities at once by redefining standards of our Big Data current platforms. One of the main objective is to bring containerization and allow applications to slowly merge to a Cloud-ready model. A strong goal is also to publish a whole services catalog through self-service API and to have the new Big Data platform fully automatized, not only for applicative tasks (projects creation, rights management) but also on an admin level as well (configuration changes, cluster extension) To reach this, the new solution must be fully integrated into the existing Platform as a Service model developped at Societe Generale (Cloud Platform) From mid-january, I was in a tactical team (3 people) which main goal was to study the pros & cons of two possible candidates. First one was a MapR solution using MapRFS has a distributed storage layer, with on top of it Kubernetes containers for all the Hadoop components. Second solution was to test the new stack of Cloudera called CDP Data Center that contains both products of Hortonworks stack and Cloudera stack (companies merged on october 2018) These Proof of Technical aimed to measure impact and cost migrations of existing applications (current existing Hadoop clusters are on HDP 2.x) toward each of them, and to also study their compliance toward security & resilience high standards requires for banking data.

Roles: Big Data Architect / DevOps (Cloudera Data Platform) The second solution tested has been to install the Cloudera CDP DataCenter 7.1.1 stack and to also study the future Private Cloud stack to be able to integrate it to the future Resource Plane. Tasks: - Automation of Openstack cluster deployment - Automation of all SLB Resources using Private Cloud API (Load Balancers, VIPs, Listeners, Pools, Healthchecks + DNS Aliases) - Automation of SSL/JKS certificates creation & deployment - Automation of CDP DataCenter & Cloudera Management Services installation & deployment (fully Kerberised and with TLS/SSL enabled) - Automation of CDP Virtual Private Cloud - Kafka (Compute Cluster) - Migration of our OpenLDAP/MIT KDC to IDM - Migration to secret into Hashicorp vault (Vault as a Service at group-level) - Integration of the new solution to existing Cloud Platform tools (Authentication, Monitoring, Vault) - Automation of Resource Plane future scalability (add/remove OpenStack nodes, add Hadoop services) - Automation of configuration changes to the Resource Plane - Disaster Recovery Study - Studies of solution to migrate existing data (more than 9 Pb from 3 different production clusters) - Target Architecture Propositions (type of hardware, number of virtualized/bare metal environments, hadoop services repartition between nodes) - Installation of several tests clusters for applicatives teams to test the new products (delta from the existing version used for example) - Formation of production teams to use the new platform and the new tools Technical environment: - CDP Data Center 7.1.1 (HDFS, YARN, HBase, Hive, Oozie, Hue, Spark, Kafka, Ranger, Ranger KMS, Knox) - Kerberos: MIT KDC, IDM - OpenStack - Ansible 2.9 - Terraform 0.13 - Hashicorp Vault - Github (internal) - JIRA

The first solution tested was to use MapR filesystem (MaprFS) as a persistant & distributed storage, and to integrate the others Hadoop components directly as Kubernetes containers. Tasks: - Installation of MapR on OpenStack - Automation of Docker CE & K8S cluster installation with Ansible - Derivation of Docker images to integrate Hadoop components - Persistant Volumes configuration of K8S containers to MapRFS volumes - Talks with Containers As a Service teams (one managing OpenShift platform and the other managing a K8S Open-Source platform) to integrate the solution to existing tools Technical environment: - MapR 6.1 (SSL + Kerberos) - Docker Community Edition - Kubernetes 1.17 - Ansible 2.9

Role: Tech Lead Big Data / Data Architect Big Data Skill Center at Orange. Main objective since my arrival was to elaborate an architecture for the future ingestion of all the data related to IoT/5G flux on the Hadoop cluster as well as migrating the existing flux from cold batches (through Axway CFT's platform) to streaming flux with Kafka & Nifi. I bring my expertise since the very beginning on the subject by participating to the workshops to help the team to navigate in a sea of components. Then, I took part in the choice of hardware and architecture to do the POC in the components chosen to test (Spark, Nifi, Flink & Kafka) I was in charge of conducting the POC, installing and securing the clusters, write and conduct the tests booklets in cooperating with the development team. Once we reached the end of the one and a half month long POC, we reached a conclusion and went to defend it to the highers up. In order to deploy the two HDF clusters in the numerous environments, automatization was done using Ansible to deploy from non-prod to production environments. I also helped define the standards implemented toward ansible, was part of one of the pilote team doing Agile at Orange's DSI. Alongside this main project, I helped them to install LLAP with the end goal of migrating a use-case from Impala to LLAP (80 nodes dedicated to this use-case currently on the Cloudera cluster) Technical environment: - Hadoop stack HDP 2.6.2 & 2.6.5, HDF 3.3.1, ambari 2.7.3 - Services managed: Nifi, Kafka, Spark - Securisation through Kerberos and FreeIPA - Automation through ansible with management of java prerequesites, ipa, until the full deployment of fully secured clusters using ambari blueprint - The main production cluster has more than 300 nodes. 7 environments total with several clusters each (one HDP, several HDF) - Others tools: Jira, SVN, Gitlab
