SopraSteria developed and maintained the Schengen Information System II (SIS II), the most widely used and extensive information-sharing system in Europe for security and border management. SIS enables competent national authorities, such as the police and border guards, to access and consult alerts on persons or objects. I was part of a remotely distributed team in Luxembourg that developed the messaging bridge and the solution's software monitoring component. I also participated in the maintenance of another product of SopraSteria called SIB, which is the SopraSteria Interconnection Box, a software suite to ease the development of systems connected to the central alert database. The suite also provided a GUI to perform basic operations, such as searching and entering alerts.
