Development of Data-Mesh-Oriented Platform: Spearheaded the creation of a robust data platform that enables the data mesh culture across the company. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as Trino, Iceberg, Flink and Benthos, this platform efficiently stores and queries large volumes of analytic payment data. This innovation has resulted in an annual saving of approximately £1 million by reducing storage costs and enhancing query performance. High-Throughput Data Ingestion: Led the research and development of high-throughput Apache Flink applications to ingest data into a data lakehouse powered by Iceberg tables. Kubernetes-Native Migration Tool: Designed and developed a general-purpose, high-throughput data migration tool using Benthos and Golang, optimized for Kubernetes environments. Data Governance and Consumption System: Engineered a system for fine-grained data access policies, utilizing AWS QuickSight and Golang for precise data governance and consumption control. Responsibilities: - Architecture design of query engines and ETL tools. - Designing data product structures. - Managing deployments on Kubernetes. - Developing APIs and Kubernetes operators to provision resources. - Establishing CI workflows. - Training newcomers on data mesh concepts and tools. Leading development of a MongoDB-as-a-service solution from scratch. Designing CI/CD pipelines and service-level architecture. Leading communication with Percona - an open source MongoDB provider.
