While I was traveling in Australia, the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, prompting me to initiate a personal project that spanned 14 months. This period was marked by intensive self-learning, particularly in mastering React Native and diving deeply into the AWS ecosystem. I conceived a mobile application using React Native that highlights events, deals, and news within a user’s local community, each displayed for up to 24 hours. Information is curated based on relevance, user preferences, and geographical location. The application boasts a robust follower/following system, facilitates real-time chat amongst users, and employs an upvote/downvote mechanism to gauge the relevance of subjects. A leaderboard accentuates the prominence of active community contributors, among other interactive features. A pivotal aspect of this project was the intricate integration of AWS services; AWS Lambda, AWS Cognito; DynamoDB; AWS AppSync along with GraphQL and AWS S3 for storage solutions. The technical architecture was enriched with OpenSearch services and Apollo Client was instrumental in GraphQL management. Technical environment: React Native - NodeJS - Git - AWS Lambda - Apache Velocity Template - AWSCloudFormation - AWS S3 - AWS Cognito (IAM) - AppSync - AWS DynamoDB - GraphQL - AWS Cloudwatch - AWS Cloudfront - Apollo - Redux - Javascript (>ES 6) - Android - iOS - Atom – MapBox - Turf - Android Studio - Xcode - Play Store - AppStore - JSON

Firstly, I was responsible for the functional redesign of our company's website. In addition to this, I designed and developed helpful tools that allowed French-speaking lawyers and translators to learn about the legal terminology standards in British Columbia's common law system. I also created a service that connected Francophones with legal requests in British Columbia to local French-speaking lawyers, enabling them to benefit from a free half-hour interview with a lawyer working in a predefined domain. Secondly, I used React Native and AWS services to create an app that advised and helped French people find solutions to their legal issues based on the most common and usual situations in the common law. The app worked like a resolution tree and also provided access to legal terminology lists. In addition to this, I designed a back-office that allowed my colleagues in law to update and populate the resolution tree. Technical environment: React Native - AWS Cognito (IAM) - AWS DynamoDB - GraphQL - AWS Cloudwatch - Javascript (ES 6) - Android - iOS - Atom – Android Studio - Xcode - Play Store - App Store - JSON - PHP - SQL - HTML - CSS - Wordpress
