– CTO and architecte hands-on – Olkana is developing a platform to manage your newspapers subscriptions, mail them to your address or view them online. – As a CTO, my goal was to produce a platform for acquiring paper logs (digital or digitized formats) and a SAAS consultation tool for end users (all in high availability mode). – My mission includes the definition of architecture, infrastructure, team management, and maintaining it in operational conditions.

– CTO hands-on. – Working on the new production platform. Defining the new architecture, mostly based on Linux Open Sources softwares, deploying, testing, implementing the new tool and workflows. – So far, I've redesigned the overall backend architecture, using PostgresQSL as a database engine and Apache SOLR as a near realtime full-text search platform (both replicated for high availability). We're also using Wowza servers for the audio/video streaming. – In addition to those servers, we're using Vocapia VoxSigma SaaS for our audio recognition and both Alchemy and Open Calais APIs for text analysis purposes. – The link between all the different modules, the bridges between our old and new backends are mainly written in Java. – We've also developed a brand new extranet for our clients to access their press reviews and alerts. The implementation uses Apache 2 Web Server, PHP and Javascript. We've also deployed an API (REST web-services using JSON/protocol buffer) that is used by both the extranet and the partners to access the data. – I've also created a production surveillance extranet to monitor the servers, the logs and to monitor and manage the services directly from the extranet. You also have some statistics on the production environments and the database. I've added health checker services to monitor the production services, retrieve the statistics and restart them if needed.

– Main developer of VirusBarrier X6, an antimalware software. It contains an antivirus, anti-phishing and a firewall. – Main developer of VirusBarrier X5, an antivirus software for Mac OS X.

– (The Catalliances company was acquired by Prodware) – Supervision of the Mac OS development team (two Mac OS X developers). – In parallel, I was the main developer of the Mac side of the Catalliances software solution. • QuarkXPress XTension developer. Completely rewrote the XTensions for QuarkXpress 7. • I've developed and managed (on the Windows side) an archiving process. The process was based on information originating from the database side (through stored procedures and flags), and from the Mac side. • Implementation and development of a new workflow process for the Mac OS X based solution. Tasks can be defined in advance and launched later.

Development of a flexible HTML import/ export XTension filter. This filter can handle several char sets (Greek, Russian, Czech ...). Migration of the Filter XTension to handle Unicode and OpenType® fonts. – Development of a new software architecture process to handle both QuarkXpress and Adobe InDesign in the Mac OS X application. – Management of several transversal projects in both the Windows and Mac OS X Operating Systems, such as a file replication process to ensure that all files on multiple distant sites are synchronized. – Development of Visual Basic .Net tools to extract text from Pdf files. The extraction is based on a statistical detection method of word spaces – Development of a C++ Active X gateway object between a .Net application and the Antidote® Spell Checker software.
