I have used this time to deepen my expertise in React and broaden my knowledge of the entire spectrum of technologies involved in software development. The current situation is far from ideal but I have used this time to better position myself for advancement within an industry that is always moving forward and frankly its hard to see how I would have done this otherwise. I independently designed, developed, and published a native iOS app under my personal limited company, Simple Pattern. The app was originally built in Objective-C and later migrated to Swift to take advantage of modern language features and improved maintainability. I managed the entire development lifecycle—from designing the architecture and user interface to testing and deploying the app on the App Store—gaining end-to-end experience with Apple’s development ecosystem and submission process. I’m currently working on a major update using React Native to enable cross-platform support and streamline future development.

During my time as a Frontend Developer at Tribal, I acquired proficiency in React and Vue, which were pivotal in my role, facilitating the smooth transition of our legacy web applications to modern frameworks, particularly React, and ensuring a seamless migration process. I successfully developed, and maintained multiple web applications for clients such as Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda, consistently contributing to the codebase's documentation and collaborating with the team to introduce end-to-end testing practices, enhancing application reliability and user satisfaction. My tenure as a Developer at Tribal Worldwide not only expanded my technical skill set but also fostered a deep understanding of web development best practices, teamwork, and project management.

Over the span of more than a decade in the Creative Department at Tribal, I dedicated myself to crafting captivating Flash-based animations and interactive communications for clients including VW, Exxon, Guinness, Budweiser, and The Guardian. This journey provided me with a unique opportunity to evolve from a design-centric role to a more coding-oriented one. As the industry shifted towards HTML5 as the primary web codebase, I seamlessly translated my expertise in ActionScript to JavaScript, ensuring a smooth transition while continually delivering innovative solutions. At the same time, I ventured into the realm of video-based animations, mastering After Effects, and further enriching my skill set to offer comprehensive multimedia solutions. This dynamic experience not only underscored my adaptability but also showcased my commitment to staying at the forefront of digital design and development trends.
