I have been working remotely for a US based company and have been involved in designing, coding, testing and maintenance work on IBM i software, using RPG ILE, RPGIV, embedded SQL, service programs, etc. on IBM i. While I primarily work with RPG, I have also occasionally used C/C++ and Python for development and maintenance tasks on the IBM i platform. I have also contributed to automation testing as needed, using tools such as JMeter and Cypress. My development environment includes tools like GitLab, GitHub, Jira, Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot, Code for IBM i, Confluence, Chat GPT-4o, Claude-sonnet-4-o, Gemini-2.5, etc.

I was involved in the modernization of DPI telecom billing system using RPG ILE, RPGIV, embedded SQL, service programs, Turnover, Hawkeye etc. on IBM AS400 for a major US Telecom client. It includes • Convert all native I/Os to SQL in RPG programs • Replace OPNQRYF with SQL indexes / views in some CL programs • Use of Hawkeye, debugging etc. to investigate and fix issues • Replace old style RPG logic with RPG/FREE statements, modules, service programs • Unit testing & Preparation of Test plans / test results for before / after changes

Worked for a Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka. I was involved in the maintenance and development work on ICBS core banking application on IBM AS400 iSeries using RPG ILE, RPGIV, embedded SQL, service programs, CLLE, Query/400 etc. .

I was involved in software development work on Telecom billing system using RPG LE / RPG400 / Synon(Cool 2E) on AS400 i series for a UK telecom software client - MDS
