Introduction
With a dual track Pharm PhD/HEC, I have cumulated more than 30 years international experience as leading manager in industry and biomedical research, structuring, scaling up and managing international large scale operations. As one of the 3 co founders and CEO of Smart Immune, I fostered a strong team of 29 people around the scientific co-founders to transform an amazing science into ProTcell, an allogeneic T cell enabling platform, the first asset being evaluated in a randomized phase II for acute leukemia inidcation in EU and in the US. The company is focused on developing ProTcell, a T cell progenitors's based therapy. This new T cell subtype can be used in clinic for the very first time. Ounce infused, those celles are educated and expanded by patient thymus into new, fresh fully functional T cell forces able to identify and eradicate pathogen and tumor. Within 5 years, the company as secured and enlarge the IP, validated the safety of the cell therapy drug product, the adult dose and has shown a capacity to provide a new and fit T cell pool within 60 days post transplant even in patients over 70 years old (data presented at ASH in dec 2024). Those allogeneic T cell progenitors can be used with or without gene modification in a very large range of applications : from haematology post allo HSCT, to combination with T cell engagers to overcome solid tumor resistance or providing long lasting CAR T cell treatment off the shelf.
