I held this position on board of two ships of the MSC Cruises company, as I.T. SYSTEMS MANAGER and Ship Cyber ​Security Officer. I worked with the support of an assistant figure in the team to: - management, integrity and operation of the ship’s information technology (IT) systems and networks, including PMS and/or other computerized cashless systems; - operation and maintenance of the revenue and guest tracking systems; - set-up of LAN devices at embarkation, assistance with data reception and transmission during and after Guests embarkation , daily management of the data transfer systems, and the integrity of information for electronic checkout of guests at the end of the cruise; - troubleshooting and repairs of PC, printers and associated hardware and peripherals; -use of inventory software in order to keep tack of the spare material and the one deployed on board to the various departments; - satellite communications maintenance and operations; - Wi-Fi network and equipment including access points, controllers, and hotspot solutions including user registration and payment gateways; - backup Systems; - Internet access technology including routers, firewalls, proxy systems; - all computer-related issues in all the Departments; - detect, respond to, recover from, and investigate cyber security incidents on IT systems; - monitoring all the network connected systems by using Monitoring Software; - maintenance of all the devices registered to an Endpoint Device Management software, through consistents security update patches and monitoring their status. Thanks to this experience I had the opportunity for the first time to be in charge of a department, having to face the most varied difficulties on a daily basis, learning very quicly that leadership is not about position, but action. This matched very well with my constant desire to learn and get involved, facing also situations under pressure in which decision-making time could be scarce.

Assistance and support to IT Systems Manager for the integrity and operation of the PMS onboard and other computerized systems and associated information network. Ensure the integrity of all network and stand-alone computers and peripherals on board.
