DevOps Intern – Fastnet AMS Duration: 2 months Location: Remote During my internship at Fastnet AMS, I contributed to automating the deployment pipeline of a cloud-based project using AWS services and Docker. My key contributions included: Designed and implemented a CI/CD pipeline using AWS CodePipeline, triggered by GitHub commits. The pipeline included: Build phase: Created Docker images based on buildspec.yml rules. Storage: Stored Docker images in AWS ECR using a dual-tagging strategy (latest and commit hash). Deployment: Configured an EC2 instance to automatically pull and run the latest Docker image. Optimized image storage by tagging each Docker image with both a unique commit hash and a latest tag. When a new image was pushed, the previous latest image remained accessible through the commit-specific tag, improving version traceability and resource efficiency. Implemented a second pipeline to separate development, staging, and production environments. The staging and production pipelines included manual approval steps, ensuring controlled and secure rollouts. Integrated AWS ECS Fargate in the production phase to enhance scalability, cost-efficiency, and load balancing, reducing reliance on EC2 instances. This experience significantly strengthened my skills in cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and environment orchestration.

As a first-year intern, I gained foundational experience in front-end web development, working with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript to build responsive and user-friendly interfaces. During this time, I successfully developed my first CRUD application using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js), which deepened my understanding of full-stack development. Additionally, I was introduced to DevOps practices, learning about deployment pipelines, version control, and automation tools, which broadened my perspective on software development lifecycle management.
