As a Health Peace Corps Volunteer, I organized community events, workshops and guest presented topics on Health related to the issues that faced the community of a population of 26,500 such as nutrition, malaria, sexual health, diarrheal illnesses, maternal health, vaccination awareness and clean water. My main project was bringing a water source to the health clinic with a new water well and pump system. Along with this project, we beautified the clinic with fresh paint, health murals and 500 children from the community making their mark with unique handprints on the clinic walls after they learned about the importance of clean water, hand washing and nutrition.
