Following a merge with Hotjar parent company, I continued my role in leadership in the frontend platform team, but from 3 to 8 engineers. Our main job was planning and handling the technical merge between multiple different stacks, with different monorepos, some with SPAs, some with multiple micro-frontends, etc. We acted as technical experts helping and guiding product teams in their journey towards merging into a unified application for a unique product following the two companies' merge.

I switched from an individual contributor to a leadership position where I helped two different teams: A product team focused on cross app improvements like comments, labels, etc. I had both the technical and people leadership of a team of 4 engineers. I did a lot of mentoring, pushed for cleaner code and better practices, especially in testing. 3 of the 4 engineers were promoted to Senior Software Engineers while under my leadership. I paired a lot with the Product Manager as well. A platform team focused on frontend, from local environment tooling to CI/CD to bundling to dependencies to core systems. I had 3 engineers under my leadership, with 2 of them Staff Software Engineers. We handled big migrations (Gitlab to Github with CI/CD) and revamps of some tools. We also maintained the Design System.
Senior Software Engineer

I worked on two different teams as an individual contributor: A product team handling session replay where I did a lot of TypeScript and React, and migrated code from an older AngularJS codebase. I worked closely with other engineers, designers and product managers. A tech team where I was the first engineer, creating a Design System from scratch. This involved all the bundling and tooling, creating the various needed components, but a lot of it was the conception, adoption measurements and defining contribution guidelines so that the Design System could become more or less autonomous.

I worked on a small team of 5 developers on a data reporting web app. Part of my work was to redo the whole design of the app pairing with the designer. We created a design system and a CSS framework to base the app on, and rewrote the views with this system. I contributed to new features and maintenance of the application. Ember.js, SCSS

I worked on the main desktop application, which runs on a Web stack behind a Qt app. For that, we developed a JS library that allows the communication between multiple windows through the Qt layer. This app has a main daemon that aggregates information from the file system and acts accordingly by opening specific windows or sending messages to the OS notification system, etc. My tasks were from webdesigning the application views, maintaining the Qt layer to analytics integration. But my main task was developing all the logic layer in JS. I also worked on other projects like building a CSS framework from scratch, Node applications and other websites.

That's My Job
Jun 2013 - Jan 2014

Our company pitch was dealing with reducing the time people spend looking for a job, due to irrelevant offers proposed by job boards. The main idea was to provide a real match between job offers aggregated from the web and profiles customized by the users, then send the offers to the concerned users. As CTO, my role was all the technical stuff, from developing back and front end web interfaces (Symfony2/JS) to system administration (Unix).

My internship subject was ‘Human Behaviour on the Web’. The main idea was to develop a adaptive web platform which would change and evolve based on the user’s behaviour. I focused on building a tracking system working as a proxy gathering data on the user: mouse clicks, mouse movements, eye movements with an eye tracker, time spent on each page, etc. I used JS, PHP, SQL.
