Sustainability innovation - Circular economy

Helping IKEA to enter the circular and regenerative economy age, using business model innovation and exponential technologies to create value within the planetary boundaries. Our industrial economy has reached a tipping point in which the traditional business model based on a linear ‘take-make-waste’ system is no longer viable. In this new age, growth is decoupled from the use of scarce resources through disruptive technology and new business models based on longevity, renewability, reuse, repair, upgrade, refurbishment, capacity sharing, and dematerialization.
Sustainability innovation - Supply chain

- Orchestrated the sustainability strategies of the world’s largest print run, the IKEA catalogue, culminating in a remarkable energy savings of 484 GWh over three years. ⚡️📉 - Achieved a 30% carbon footprint reduction from the IKEA catalogue production 📊💚. - Spearheaded the IKEA catalog transition to become the world’s largest 100% FSC-certified print run, one year ahead of schedule 🌳📖. Global sustainability management of the printed and digital media productions for Inter IKEA Systems B.V., owner and worldwide franchisor of the IKEA Concept (http://franchisor.ikea.com/). My role is to help make the production of the IKEA catalogue, both printed and digital, more sustainable by empowering decision makers, buyers and suppliers. As an example, we've developed a package of industry-specific requirements based on the social and environmental 'hotspots' in the fiber, pulp, paper, print and digital sectors. We follow up compliance of all our suppliers towards these requirements and gather a broad range of environmental data from our supply chain. We built a Dashboard for buyers to help them select suppliers that support our ambitious sustainability goals. The 2015 #IKEACatalogue became the largest print run ever to be printed on FSC-certified paper! This means that the entire IKEA catalogue production chain, from forest to printer, is now FSC-certified to ensure that the raw materials for the paper originate from responsibly managed forests.
