Below are the key tasks and technologies used during this experience: CI/CD Pipeline Implementation: Designed and deployed a CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins to automate key steps such as builds, unit tests, integration tests, and deployment. Configured Jenkins pipelines with declarative syntax to ensure smooth integration between branches and seamless testing. Containerization & Deployment: Used Docker to containerize the microservices, focusing on image and container size optimization to reduce resource consumption. Worked on improving deployment times to ensure faster releases and minimize downtime. Managed multi-container setups using Docker Compose for local testing and staging environments. Artifact Management: Centralized the management of build artifacts through Nexus Repository Manager, ensuring efficient storage and secure access to packages and images. Integrated Maven with Nexus for seamless publishing of artifacts within the CI/CD pipeline. Database Management: Worked with IBM DB2 as the primary database, handling data storage, retrieval, and integration with microservices to ensure consistent performance. Source Code Management & Collaboration: Managed source code repositories with GitHub, following a GitFlow branching strategy to streamline collaboration, versioning, and continuous integration. This internship allowed me to gain hands-on experience in building and maintaining automated DevOps pipelines for microservices applications. I enhanced my skills in containerization, focusing on optimization of images and deployment times, while also managing artifacts and database integration effectively.

During my web development internship, I worked on both the design and development of a complete HR management application, covering the entire employee management lifecycle, including task assignments and scheduling. This experience allowed me to enhance my technical skills by developing a modern web application using Spring Boot for the backend and Angular with Bootstrap for the frontend. During my internship at Geiser, I actively contributed to the design, configuration, and deployment of a private cloud solution to enhance the scalability, availability, and performance. This project gave me hands-on experience with OpenStack, providing deep insights into cloud infrastructure management. Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment: OpenStack Configuration: Deployed a private cloud using OpenStack on Ubuntu LTS virtual machines, setting up key services like Nova (compute), Neutron (networking), and Cinder (block storage). Configured Keystone for identity management to handle authentication and authorization, and integrated Horizon, OpenStack’s dashboard, for easy resource management. Networking with Neutron: Implemented virtual networks using Neutron and configured floating IPs to enable external access to internal instances. Set up security groups to manage inbound and outbound traffic, ensuring secure communication between instances. Compute and Storage Management: Used Nova to manage and allocate virtual machines (VMs) efficiently, optimizing resource utilization. Configured Cinder to provide persistent storage for critical workloads and automated resource provisioning to support seamless scaling. Virtualization and Resource Management: Managed Hyper-V alongside OpenStack compute nodes to ensure effective use of resources, including CPU, memory, and storage. Monitored VMs, networks, and volumes to maintain optimal infrastructure performance and stability. Security and Access Management: Configured role-based access control (RBAC) with Keystone to limit access based on roles and enhance security. Managed user authentication and permissions to protect sensitive resources and ensure a secure environment. This internship allowed me to gain valuable skills in cloud infrastructure deployment, virtualization, and resource optimization, while also developing expertise in automating and troubleshooting cloud services for efficient scaling and performance.
