As an AWS-focused DevOps and Software Engineer, I build applications that actually make it to production. I specialize in AWS and serverless architectures, designing systems that are reliable, scalable, and built to last. I write software because it’s my job, but also because I genuinely enjoy creating things. Backend engineering is my core strength, but I care about delivering solid, well-crafted frontends when needed. Above all, I make sure the work is fun while still shipping high-quality, production-ready systems.

Development of a Cloud-Native Application for an Interim Business, Utilizing Exclusively Serverless Technologies As part of a customer’s migration to the cloud, we initiated the development of their new internal application. This involved setting up the landing zone and managing the development process for their new product. We were also tasked with helping their teams ramp up on cloud technologies to become autonomous in running and managing the new platform. This mission was significant in scope. We began with a small team of three builders and efficiently scaled the development process to include two teams of ten people each. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate with multiple talented individuals across various fields. I learned a great deal from them, and I hope I was able to impart my knowledge of AWS and serverless development in return. This project also introduced me to Golang, and with the help of my colleagues, I became proficient in it. By the time I completed my work on this project, the application was handling two thousand daily users, maintaining low runtime costs and nearly zero maintenance expenses. Some of the key tasks I was involved in: - Designing and developing the initial microservice. - Creating a continuous deployment pipeline with fully automated tests and deployments. - Architecting new features based on product team requirements. - Designing and developing the infrastructure to support the micro-frontend application. - Transferring knowledge to new team members. - Managing production operations, including troubleshooting and planning fixes, ensuring overall production health. - Implementing DevOps best practices within the team. - Implementating best practices for Event Driven Application.

Creation of a Cloud-Native Application Integrating User Flow with a Data Pipeline for AI Analytics in Healthcare This mission began as a response to a disaster in production, where the customer suffered an internal attack that destroyed the entire production environment of one of their applications in the AWS cloud. The immediate priority was to redeploy a new production environment to resume services and minimize downtime. Once the application was back online, we collaborated with the customer to refactor their landing zone to prevent such incidents in the future. We then modernized the application to make it fully serverless. My tasks included: - Conducting a comprehensive analysis of their AWS environment and identifying the destroyed resources. - Recreating a new production environment. - Leading workshops to help the customer adopt processes and best practices for protecting the production environment. - Designing the architecture for the new serverless solution. - Creating the migration plan to transition the legacy application to the new serverless version. - Participating in daily stand-ups to guide and troubleshoot the development team as they built the new application.

Migration of an On-Premise Java Application to a Containerized Environment with AWS Fargate This mission marked the beginning of our customer’s cloud migration journey. We were tasked with setting up the landing zone and migrating an existing application to a containerized microservice architecture. My tasks included: - Assisting the customer’s development team in containerizing a Java application. - Building an automated pipeline to execute builds, unit tests, and integration tests. - Developing the application infrastructure using AWS Fargate, migrating the database to AWS Aurora, and constructing the entire network layer to ensure the application was accessible only within the customer’s private network. - Supporting the customer in ramping up on the new infrastructure, enabling them to manage the operations independently.

Creation of a Fully Automated Mobile App Deployment Pipeline for a Food Delivery Service The goal of this mission was to support a development team in the release process of a mobile application. The added value was the creation of full end-to-end testing across multiple mobile devices using AWS Device Farm. We needed to support both Android and iOS builds and test execution. The E2E tests were run on multiple devices from various brands and OS versions. All test reports were automatically made available to both the product and development teams. My tasks included: - Collaborating with the product team to create testing scenarios. - Deploying a pipeline with AWS CodePipeline to automate all processes from a Git release to the mobile store release. - Managing parallel builds for Android and iOS (the build environment was a hybrid setup using CodeBuild and CircleCI). - Executing E2E scenarios in Device Farm. - Reporting and validating the tested builds. - Releasing new versions on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

My mission was to redesign a rule engine developed in SQL. The queries had become too slow (taking almost 24 hours), and the application was no longer able to process the requests in time. I explored different solutions to offload this process from the database. This led me to experiment with Big Data solutions using Apache Spark and stream processing with Kafka. Ultimately, I was able to process the entire batch in Java in less than an hour. The solution was later implemented into production.
