Implementation of a SMED Project As part of a continuous improvement effort, I led the deployment of a SMED initiative focused on significantly VW cutting machine setup and downtime. - Prioritized machines for optimization based on a detailed Pareto analysis of setup times and stoppages. - Conducted thorough observations to identify and externalize internal operations, maximizing external setup activities. - Identified and eliminated waste (Muda), with root causes analyzed through the 5 Whys method. - Designed a structured action plan following the PDCA cycle, which included implementing a standardized operating procedure for operators and optimizing workflow. - Proposed innovative, cross-disciplinary solutions targeting automation, quality, and ergonomics to enhance overall operational efficiency sustainably. (Top10 Best Projects) Production Process Optimization – BMW (VSM Project) During this internship, I led a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) improvement initiative to optimize production flows, reduce waste, and enhance key performance indicators. Conducted a Pareto analysis to identify and prioritize the most critical production segment. Identified and classified wastes (Muda, Mura, Muri) and performed root cause analysis using the 5 Whys method. Developed the current-state VSM, including performance metrics: Cycle Time, Takt Time, Lead Time, VA/NVA, and VA Ratio. Designed and implemented a PDCA action plan to eliminate waste and streamline workflows.
