Genomics

Genomics provides polygenic risk scores (PRS) to US & UK individuals, showing their risk of developing specific conditions based on their genetics, age and sex. As Senior Product Designer, I owned the strategy, design and research of key elements of Health Insights, the platform that provides the PRS scores. Scope: end-to-end product design across patient acquisition, onboarding, sample collection, results delivery and clinical workspaces. Ran user interviews and usability testing. Collaborated with scientists, clinicians, engineers and content teams to visualise complex genetic and medical information. Built the Health Insights design system. Key achievements: • Designed the data-heavy US clinician dashboard for managing Health Insights genetic tests, patient referrals and risk insights from multiple data sources, with information density tuned for specialist vs generalist users. • Redesigned the Health Insights US marketing site, raising sign-up rate to 59.3% (+5.3%), outperforming healthcare benchmarks of 40%. • Redesigned genetic test sample collection (online instructions plus physical kit), cutting rejection rate to 0.3% (-9.7%), saving ~$2,000 per 500 kits. • Secured MHRA approval for UK launch of Health Insights US by leading a 15-GP moderated usability study, opening the market to Bupa and other key UK customers. • Built and maintained the Health Insights design system. • Ran company-wide design talks to raise design maturity and embed user-centred practice across teams.

Designed end-to-end web experiences spanning discovery, prototyping and delivery. Managed all business operations, client leads and accounting. Wound down in late 2020 as COVID-19 reduced demand from local SME clients, after which I joined Candide full-time.
