Introduction
As a software engineer with a solid background in software design and with very practical experiences in various fields (from machine learning to more standardized web development projects), I have a good understanding of project management issues. These past four years, I have worked on very important projects in Senegal and in France, always using cutting edge technologies to deliver tested and well documented products to companies and research laboratories. My technology spectrum includes but is not limited to Java Google AppEngine, Angular, Symfony, Docker, Ionic Framework, IoT, Machine Learning and Unity. Since November 2018, I work on estimating measurement uncertainties for a research team at Clermont Auvergne University. You can get a preview of my work by visiting my blog: http://pamodzou.appspot.com.

In a team of 13, I help build and maintain Gesica, the very app used by Orange to deploy its fiber technology thourough France. The inherent criticality of this task implies the highest awareness and responsiveness to bugs. Among the challenges we face on a day to day basis : - The upgrade of a 19 years old legacy code from Php 7.2 to Php 8.2 - A deep thinking of a deployment process with the least downtime leveraged by Mysql 8 with its table locking operations improvements - The dedication to a live bug fixing task force every 5 sprints to help the operation team get meaningful nuggets of knowledge about the KPIs, the reasons a bug occured or even get the bug fixed in the proper conditions. - The enhancement of the code quality by constantly writing unit tests

I started working with EasyPicky on October 2022 via my former employer and they gave me this amazing opportunity to grab a permanent position in their Web App team. I develop backend applications (Api + views sometimes) in Symfony and Flask in an hybrid way. I'm still using Api Platform and docker - perfect stack by the way - to deliver quality products with my colleagues.

After a solid research background, I wanted to go back to a more software engineer-centric project but with solid scientific implications. I was offered an opportunity to work in a great team for a radioprotection startup in Clermont Auvergne. From a technical perspective, I was still using Symfony in a SCRUM management context. The architecture had some specificities that brought some interesting challenges. With time going, I started to take more responsibilities - namely on the deployment process - and really climbed over the Ops learning curve. I stepped out of this experience with a neat vision of what was coming next: the perspective of more responsibilities and infrastructure management.

For the second work package, we had to link a measurement tool furnished by Mitutoyo company to our platform so that measurements could be fixed on the fly. That meant understanding the core concepts of Iot, reading state of the art Iot protocols to address performance challenges and finding the perfect way to hack a proprietary connected measurment tool (keylogging here). The keylogging was written in Python so that the development team would be comfortable with the code.

In 2015, a Clermont Auvergne University Lab (LIMOS) joined a consortium of metrology specialists in order to build a platform where metrologists would be able to revise their measurments on the fly with some constraints: not only had the revision method take into account the biases induced by external phenomenons, but it also had to fetch data from a set of various measurement tools (IoT). I joined this project to propose a bird eye view of the whole process and to implement an efficient solution. For the first work package, we used ApiPlatform(Symfony), Angular, Docker, Flask(Python).

After an internship on image forensics and a publication on a french IEEE related journal, I was ready to have my first experience as a software engineer. I had a great opportunity to work for the back-then leader of mobile payment in Africa, Hubso. This was the most vivid example so far of everything I learned at college, between scrum planification reviews and project management issues. I Worked on 8 mobile and web development projects using Google App Engine as backend technology with some ZK Framework. This was my second experience with Ionic and Angular JS. Most of the projects were related to payment methods integration, API documentation, Ecommerce apps development and mobile app prototyping. I wrote a linkedin article on how to expose CRUD web services as you wrote entities on the fly. This article was the beginning of my next move: metrology

Until now, I had nothing but a very academic experience of software engineering. In order to validate my engineering degree, I had to do an internship during the last months of my senior year. It was one of the most thrilling and relevant decisions I ever made as I stepped into the signals processing world. Indeed, software design students will tell you about the crucial lack of signals courses because some academic decisioneers would rather dwell on project management issues. Since I already had a clear view of software design challenges, I got in touch with an associate professor at Montpellier LIRMM laboratory to work on a very controversial topic: Steganography and steganalysis of JPEG color images. And don't let these vernacular words impress you. Steganography is the art of hiding information in a support (painting, audio, image). Steganalysis, however is the process of detecting if a support contains hidden informations. These disciplines took a particular importance when FBI found out that 9/11 attacks plans were on the internet months. They were just steganographied. When I started working on it, steganography of JPEG images was already studied; however, only for grayscale images. I had to take a particular look at how it would be done on color images with a particularity of 3 matrices. I used for the steganalysis a machine learning tool (SVMs) and published a paper about it at Coresa 2017. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/328615617_Steganographie_et_Steganalyse_des_images_JPEG_Couleur After this internship, I was interested in getting involved in another research project. I really liked working in a research environment and being always up to date with new discoveries in a specific field.
