I offer private classes to young children residing in my neighborhood. I educate them on these; • Quran and Tajweed— how to correctly recite in the right manner, intonation and sound. • Supplications(duas)— this is a very important part of Islam yet given very little attention. These supplications protect us in so many ways. I teach and explain to them the meanings of these daily supplications and when to recite them at their prescribed times. • Islam— I teach them about the religion of Islam and what it entails, about the Prophet and his way of life. • Arabic language— we learn from scratch, the Arabic alphabets in their right pronunciations. I’ve enjoyed teaching these girls so much because I get to equally learn from them; they’re so bright, smart and intelligent.

At Madrasatul Ummul Qurah Al-Islamiyyah, we strive to impact in young children the knowledge of Islam, the teachings of the Quran and the Arabic Language so they grow to become ambassadors of the Islamic Religion. Teaching is done every weekend (Saturdays, Sundays) where syllabi is followed by teachers to guide them on what to teach each student. We uphold the virtues of discipline, humility, responsibility and courtesy held high by every teacher and student at Madrasatul Ummul Qurah.

Sistas in Sales is a community for Women of Color Sales Professionals, to network, advance their careers, to learn, share and support each other and most importantly, find SISTERHOOD.

Working at the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, I get to experience being a social worker as I get the opportunity to identify and classify cases ranging from child abuse, child maintenance, child custody and family welfare. These cases are of essence to the department as they help to provide assistance to the various victims. Persons With Disabilities are another top priority of the department. We aim to apply the concept of inclusivity so as to make them feel welcomed and appreciated in the society. We offer educational and medical supports, economic empowerment and organize sensitization programs with them to build and give them a sense of responsibility.
