Worked with Oracle, Db2 LUW, PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MySQL DBA for the Portuguese clients. Worked with ongoing operations and lifecycle management, backups and restores, Stand by Databases, Data Migration, high availability, Disaster Recovery, partitioned databases, PostgreSQL and MySQL. Shell script development to automate tasks. Worked on virtualised environments.

Started working at IBM Global Services division in August/2005 as Linux/Unix SysAdmin. In the first year after an internal process which I’ve candidated myself I had the opportunity to work as DBA with Oracle and DB2 LUW, with databases hosted on Linux, AIX and Windows. The work consisted of projects and operations, performing activities such as shell scripting, backups and restores, data movement, migrations, Lifecycle Management and problems resolution. In 2012 I’ve started leading the team of DBA that I was part of and in 2014 I’ve got promoted due to performance achievements. In 2014 I’ve won the IBM ideas prize after developing (as a hobby) an iOS application (using Swift) to manage communications.

Working in parallel with IBM Global Business Services, during the nights I worked as a teacher in "Computer Sciences", “Computer Engineer” and "System Analyst" courses. I have worked with the following subjects: Relational Databases, Operational Systems, Programming Languages and Graphical Computing. Worked with my students using Virtualization on Virtualbox and VMWare, Ubuntu Linux, MySQL, Apache, Oracle, SQL, shell scripting and Google SketchUp.
