Built without any use of global variables, with clear separation of concerns in code structure, alarm handling, logging and a dedicated UI panel. Features were developed in close collaboration with stakeholders, supported by regular demos on a local simulation instance. • Designed a temperature data validation panel that queried temperature values and limits from XML files in Paros, calculated averages and displayed the results. Execution of related machine commands was gated by pre-condition checks. Logging and garbage collection was incorporated to ensure system integrity. • Developed a control manager to cyclically report the modes and states of 36 modules to an ELK broker, while logging state changes in real-time. The solution allowed users to adjust the reporting interval dynamically and to start/stop reporting for seamless monitoring and management. • Fixed a critical bug in the device import mechanism, where sensor imports were partially failing during module import—improving system stability and data accuracy • Independently deployed new software releases in a redundant production environment, updated technical wikis, onboarded colleagues and led operator training sessions

• Project planning, design and development of control systems including procurement of automation hardware and testing in-house. Some of the control equipment used include S7 300/400/1500, ET 200M, CP 340 RS485/RS422 & CP340 RS232C • Development/extension of HMI/SCADA (WinCC & GP-Pro EX) and PLC-Software (Simatic Manager Step 7 & TIA Portal) • PLC software development in FBD, STL, SCL, S7-Graph and HMI/MMI/SCADA systems development using c-scripting and database manipulation/management in Siemens WinCC • Establishing communications using Profibus, Profinet and OPC protocols • Configuring server-client networks with redundancy and WSUS • Developing SCADA mimics from electrical and hydraulic drawings defined by customer • Creation of functional descriptions for Cutter-Suction and Hopper Dredgers, IO lists, State diagrams and other technical/operational control systems manuals • Commissioning, upgrading and troubleshooting of control systems, sensors and instruments including on-site/on-board and remote support • Coordination/supervision of contract partners/subcontractors for on-board control systems Some key accomplishments: • Delivered a complete automation solution for a newly chartered twin dredger—from IO list generation, visualization of hydraulic/electrical schematics, creation of functional descriptions-- all the way to FAT and full deployment of a redundant WinCC-based, WSUS powered, distributed multiuser server-client setup • Complete upgrade of a legacy SCADA dredger system, including migration of SQL-based control logic to C, automated chronological sorting for the refurbished dredging operations dashboard, new draft sensor mimics, plc visuals etc. • Developed a GPS data pipeline in Step 7 using SCL, STL and FBD-applying 7 parameter Helmert transformations for real-time geospatial visualization • Successfully developed a COM-based C++ application using Visual Studio Code to interface with a live WinCC instance, enabling direct access to tag values.
