Master Thesis: « Optimal Design and Control of a DC-DC Converter for a V2G System - Power Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing » Main responsibilities: Emulate an EV battery cell, scale it to an EV battery pack. Validate the model using experimental data (voltage and temperature) at 1.0 C charging. State-of-the-art analysis to choose the optimal topology of bidirectional DC-DC converters (chargers). Implementing the Dual Active Bridge (DAB) in Simulink and comparison with the analytical and theoretical behavior. Validation of the DAB experimentally using Simulink, Matlab, and dSPACE. Optimal sizing of the components of the designed converter, such as inductance, transformer, capacitances, resistances, MosFETs, etc. Designing a control law with the input being the phase shift of the PWM for the switches gate. A scheduled-gain PI control has been implemented in simulation before being validated experimentally. Additionally, an MPC has been designed in simulation for faster dynamics. Finally MILP optimisation has been performed to maximise the profits during a V2G scenario where the EV is connected to the grid, while minimising the degradation of the battery. This depended on the price of the electricity, which depended on the day and hour.

Creation of a product with a team in order to sell it. Thanks to my team management, we were able to set up a method for designing our product (escape box). Thanks to a marketing technique put in place, several sales were made. It was a good experience and the ideal position for my leadership, creativity and problem solving skills.
