After returning from the United States, I took time to reconnect with family and friends and explore new places. During this period of reflection, I realized that despite a lack of immediate opportunities, I wanted to pivot my career toward IT and Digital Transformation. This led me to work with several startups across Dubai and India, where I focused on gaining hands-on experience, identifying my strengths, and honing the skills necessary to thrive in this dynamic field.

Led energy analysis initiatives for federal energy agencies across the Northwestern U.S., driving improvements in energy efficiency and sustainability efforts. Played a pivotal role in developing new codes and standards for upcoming power conservation plans, ensuring alignment with evolving industry requirements and best practices. Designed and developed a pump energy savings calculator for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), optimizing energy consumption in pump systems. The tool continues to support NEEA’s mission to promote energy efficiency in the region.

During my time with the University of Florida Industrial Assessment Center (IAC), I played a key role in conducting energy audits for small to mid-sized industries across North and Central Florida. The primary goal of these audits was to evaluate energy practices in areas such as lighting, HVAC, insulation, waste management, and the integration of renewable energy solutions. Additionally, we assessed the operation of critical systems, including cooling towers, boilers, air compressors, and chillers. As a team leader, I led a group of 5-6 individuals, delegating tasks across these domains and serving as the main point of contact for clients. I facilitated communication, gathered key information, and helped compile comprehensive energy reports, which were reviewed by the Department of Energy within 60 days of the initial visit and then submitted to the client. Our efforts focused on identifying energy-saving measures with the best return on investment, aiming for simple payback periods within 1-2 years. This approach not only boosted energy efficiency but also promoted sustainability and cost savings for our clients.
