Simon Ruaut

Introduction

I have been working in Liège since February 2024 as a UI-UX Designer for Mega, a large Belgian energy and telecommunications provider. In June 2024, I obtained with great distinction an inter-university certificate in User Experience Design and Research at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Adding to this academic recognition in UX Design, I have seven years of experience as a freelance graphic and information designer. In the last seven years, I have been mostly focused on developing visual identities and layouts as well as designing digital tools for businesses and institutions to communicate more efficiently. I took it upon myself to facilitate my client’s understanding of the tenets of their messaging and my goal was also to help them in better addressing their public. Prioritizing, structuring, illustrating and translating a complex content or process into a relatable form is the kind of challenge that I enjoy being confronted with. With a keen analytical mindset, I help elaborating minimal and accurate design to support and highlight content. Rather than just representing effect, my work is driven by finding the way to develop systems and structures that help reading, understanding and sharing values. My experience as an assistant designer at Studio Joost Grootens in Amsterdam, was really determining for me. This Studio is well-known in Europe for its approach to information design and the high quality of its editorial work, in particular with architecture and urban planning topics. This crucial experience in my career illustrates the specific interest I shape in information design, data visualisation and systems design. https://simonruaut.net/
