At the European XFEL, researchers and industrialists use intense femtosecond X-ray flashes to understand how to manipulate matter with light. This practical knowledge is necessary to improve the performances of components in real-life devices, such as the flipping time of qubits in quantum computers. In the context of infrastructure commissioning, designed and managed an R&D project from start to finish (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure) to demonstrate and validate the target performances at the FXE platform of the European XFEL for femtosecond X-ray applications. * Led steering committees to collect and synthesize the end-users requirements on technical specifications for performances * Analyzed the end-users requirements and the constraints, established the feasibility, selected and allocated resources * Performed the safety-risk assessment analysis and established a global risk-matrix * Defined the technical and functional actions necessary to deliver the specifications and charted the roadmap to structure the project phases (objectives, milestones, deliverables and success criteria) * Designed tests and developed protocols * Organized, monitored and managed the project in terms of compliance (schedule, resources, budget) prioritization, risk * Coordinated the work of the internal team (engineers, IT) and the external partners (chemists, material scientists, theoreticians) through meetings (planning and debriefings) and progress reports * Provided assistance and expertise on technical, functional and transverse issues, coordinated training and transfer of knowledge between team members, and contributed to technical documentation * Performed technological watch on competitive developments * Provided regular progress reports and end-of-project reports to the senior management of the R&D department and disseminated the results to promote end-users engagement
