Critical transition is central to the study of dynamical systems. Indeed, this qualitative change in the dynamics of a system has been found in many fields such as medicine, finance or ecology. In this context, this study aims to determine the potential link between the causes of a critical transition and the possibility of anticipating such a phenomenon. To respond to this problem, two population dynamics models with critical transitions whose cause is endogenous to the system in one case and exogenous in the other were studied. In a context of anticipating critical transitions, two indicators of the approach to such a phenomenon (temporal variance and autocorrelation) were analyzed on these models.
