As part of my current internship at Schneider Electric, I am working within the Microgrid division, focused on the Belgium and Netherlands region. My mission revolves around the audit, the structuring and optimization of the exécutions process for Microgrid projects, from early-stage opportunity to project delivery. This role gives me the opportunity to dive into the dynamic and fast-evolving Microgrid market. I’m not only learning how these systems work, but I’m also contributing directly to how we deploy them more efficiently and effectively. A Microgrid is a localized, intelligent energy system that can operate autonomously or in connection with the main grid. It brings together distributed energy resources like solar panels, battery energy storage, EV chargers, and generators, allowing sites to become more resilient, sustainable, and flexible in how they consume and produce energy. Through this experience, I’m engaging with both technical and operational aspects from process standardization and data structuring to understanding how energy flows are monitored, managed, and secured. One of the key challenges lies in aligning all internal teams from sales to engineering to after-sales service around a single template that not only structures internal work but can also adapt to client-specific needs. The goal is to create a unified, flexible approach that makes the process more seamless and efficient, while also opening the door to more opportunities by reducing friction and accelerating execution. It’s a unique position at the intersection of energy innovation, digital systems, and operational excellence. Working alongside a dedicated team that is shaping the energy systems of tomorrow, I’m grateful for the exposure, the trust, and the opportunity to take part in a transformation that’s both deeply technical and globally meaningful.
