Contracted to lead the end-to-end design and deployment of a new, multi-region AWS Landing Zone, establishing a secure and scalable foundation for Meilisearch's global infrastructure. Automated the deployment of a 5-region AWS infrastructure, including VPC networking with Transit Gateway and regional Kubernetes clusters, using Terraform and GitHub Actions. Deployed a full observability stack on Kubernetes using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Thanos to provide centralized, persistent metrics and logging across all regions. Performed a SOC 2 compliance assessment using Steampipe and remediated discovered vulnerabilities to harden the infrastructure and meet security requirements. Created extensive documentation and coached the in-house team to ensure a successful and sustainable handover of the new platform.

Conducted load tests with OctoPerf to benchmark the AWS environment, including Lambda, AppSync, API Gateway, and a self-hosted MongoDB on EC2. Identified key performance bottlenecks by monitoring the infrastructure under load with AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray. Delivered a technical report on all findings and implemented the initial tier of optimizations by tuning the AWS infrastructure to resolve critical issues.

As a consultant on the Software Factory team, I automated and modernized critical developer infrastructure on AWS and GCP. Led the migration of a monolithic Jenkins cluster to a distributed architecture on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), resolving major maintenance bottlenecks and improving team autonomy. Automated infrastructure deployment using Terraform and GitLab CI to manage core developer tools, including GitLab, SonarQube, and a High-Availability (HA) JFrog Artifactory cluster. Developed a Python CLI tool to streamline AWS operations, including Auto Scaling Group rolling updates and EC2 instance lifecycle management for cost savings.
