Duffle App: Crypto payment app

Project overview

Ivorypay is a cryptocurrency payment gateway that enables businesses to accept payments for goods and services in stable cryptocurrencies. The project aimed to create a user-friendly and efficient platform for processing crypto payments, ensuring smooth onboarding, transaction transparency, and high conversion rates.

The Problem

The rise of cryptocurrency led to an increasing demand for seamless, secure, and user-friendly payment solutions. Businesses needed an easy way to accept crypto payments without dealing with volatility or complex blockchain transactions.

Cross-border payment in Africa remains one of the most expensive in the world. Between 8 and 10 percent of each transaction's value disappears in fees, amounting to almost USD$4.7 billion lost from the continent in expenses—a significant figure by any measure.

Though new digital payment solutions have attempted to address this problem, they remain expensive and limited by various countries' foreign exchange restrictions. For example, in Nigeria, the central bank imposed a $100 limit on debit cards for all dollar-based transactions, severely restricting online payments.

Objectives

Design an intuitive crypto-payment gateway for businesses.

Develop a dashboard for merchants to track transactions, manage payments, and withdraw funds.

Ensure seamless onboarding and smooth user experience.

Establish a strong and modern brand identity.

Solution

Ivorypay's crypto payment gateway streamlines transactions for businesses by enabling seamless payments in stable cryptocurrencies, both locally and internationally. The platform reduces fees and bypasses foreign exchange restrictions, giving over 50 million crypto holders a practical way to spend their digital assets.

Competitor Analysis

I analyzed competitors such as BitPay, Fluidcoins, and NOWPayments to identify industry best practices and areas of improvement

Key Findings

Users wanted real-time transaction tracking and transparent fees.

Many found crypto payment gateways complex and hard to integrate.

Merchants needed multi-currency support and an easy-to-use dashboard.

Process flow diagram

I created this flow to show the sequence of steps, decisions, and activities in a process from start to finish.

Branding & Visual identity

Color Palette:

       - Primary: #02084b (Blue)

       - Secondary: #cc9933 (Gold)

Typography:
- Rubik is used for headings, because it balances professionalism and friendliness, making it suitable and versatile which adds a sense of sophistication with its elegant serif style.
- Karla is used for body text, providing a clean, modern contrast and contemporary look, making it ideal for modern web and app interfaces.

Logo & Icons:

       - The logo embodies trust, innovation, and seamless transactions which uses blue and gold

Conclusion & Lessons Learned

Working on Ivorypay highlighted the critical role of user-centric design, intuitive navigation, and strong branding in fintech crypto solutions. The project effectively simplified crypto payments for businesses without compromising security or scalability.
