Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO, Turkish Petroleum Corporation) announced the first large gas reserve discovery in 2020 after the Tuna-1 exploration well in Sakarya Gas Field, with a confirmed capacity of 405 BCM. The subsequent discovery of another gas reserve after Amasra-1 exploration in early 2021, 40 km northwest of Tuna-1, the total capacity of the field increased to 540 BCM. The Sakarya Gas Field Development (SGFD) Project kicked off quickly after discovery. Currently, an EPCI Contractor is working to deliver the gas from pore-to-grid as part of the Phase 1 development, i.e. from 10 production wells located in Sakarya Gas Field at about 2150 m water depth and 165 km from Filyos, into the Turkish grid via the Onshore Processing Facility (OPF) with a capacity of 10 million SCMD. The first gas from Sakarya Gas Field into the Turkish grid is planned to be within 2023. To increase the production up to 40 million SCMD, TP shall assign EPCI Contract(s) for the Sakarya Gas Field Development Project - Phase 2, based on an FPU-based solution. Phase 2 development involves a competitive • Advice on procedures to prevent accidents and ways to improve work methods • Ensuring compliance with all quality, safety and environmental requirements, procedures and work instructions for all the work force • Ensuring that instruction/training is given to employees in the use of equipment and tools • Ensuring provision and use of protective equipment and devices • Identifying potential hazards and changes in safety requirements • Carrying out site inspections, audits and visits to see that safe work methods are in operation • Determining the cause of any accident and recommending means to prevent reoccurrence • Assessing accident trends and reviewing safety performance • The preparing and implementation of the environmental monitoring programs and inspection • Keeping records of injuries and damage, quality HSE records

Providing introductory training, creating personnel files, explaining and presenting the content of the training to be given to the personnel, and transferring the toolbox topics to each job.

Phase 2 development involves a competitive FEED study and subsequent EPCI for an additional capacity of 30 million SCMD gas with an additional 26 production wells, for which product from the field will be processed and sent to Filyos as dry gas. The phasing for the Sakarya Gas Field Development is defined as follows: - Phase 1: The onshore and offshore infrastructure necessary to achieve the initial production plateau from the first 10 wells from Sakarya Gas Field.
