Selected architecture case studies: • Multi-tenant Accounting SaaS: Designed a correctness-first modular monolith with PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, transactional ledgering, RBAC, audit trails, and OpenTelemetry; defined an incremental path to service decomposition with targets including 99.9% availability and 15-minute RPO. • Real-time Collaboration Platform: Designed a dual-path CRUD and WebSocket architecture for collaborative document editing, using OT conflict resolution, append-only operation logs, PostgreSQL snapshots, and Redis presence; defined graceful degradation from presence to editing with sub-180ms remote edit propagation as a target. • Massive Document Processing Pipeline: Architected stage-specific RabbitMQ queues and idempotent workers for validation, OCR, extraction, indexing, and replay; modeled backpressure, dead-letter handling, object storage, PostgreSQL metadata, and OpenSearch for approximately 1.2M documents/day. • Headless High-traffic Commerce: Designed an edge-cached Next.js storefront and a correctness-focused checkout domain with inventory reservations, payment idempotency, transactional outbox, and compensating Saga workflows; separated read scalability from transactional consistency for flash-sale traffic. • RAG Knowledge Platform: Designed a multi-workspace knowledge assistant with hybrid PostgreSQL full-text and pgvector retrieval, reranking, citation enforcement, evaluation workflows, and policy boundaries; prioritized grounded answers and AI cost governance over premature adoption of a dedicated vector database. • International Reservation Platform: Architected a global booking platform with regional write affinity, timezone and currency correctness, short-lived Redis holds, idempotent payment orchestration, transactional outbox events, and reconciliation; favored correctness-first failover over unsafe active-active booking writes.
