Work experience
Stage as Electromagnetic Compatibility
OHB Italia S.p.A.
May 2025 - Present
1 year 6 months
Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy
The activity focuses on the study of electromagnetic interference (EMI) among the various electronic subsystems onboard a space satellite. The main goal is to analyze and predict potential electromagnetic interactions that may occur both before launch and during the mission, in order to ensure the overall system’s compatibility and reliability. The work involves theoretical analysis, numerical simulations, and interpretation of results to support subsystem design and integration.
Student Internship
CIRA - Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali
Apr 2024 - May 2025
1 year 2 months
81043 Capua, Province of Caserta, Italy
The study focused on the performance of Hall Effect Thrusters (HETs) operating in Very Low Earth Orbits (VLEO), where atmospheric gases can be used as propellants to counteract aerodynamic drag, thereby extending the operational lifetime of the propulsion system. The research also explored the influence of wall material selection in the annular discharge chamber, which plays a crucial role in thruster efficiency and erosion resistance. The primary objective was to investigate the feasibility and performance of nitrogen as an alternative propellant to xenon. Nitrogen presents increased ionization challenges due to its higher ionization energy and lower atomic mass, requiring optimized conditions to achieve a stable plasma discharge. The study combined an extensive literature review with numerical simulations using specialized software tools to analyze plasma behavior, ionization efficiency, and material interactions under VLEO conditions.
TT&C Member
DAPHNE Mission
Oct 2023 - May 2025
1 year 8 months
Naples, Metropolitan City of Naples, Italy
This extra-academic activity focused on Downlink, Uplink, and Telemetry systems for a 3U CubeSat (10 cm × 10 cm × 30 cm), based on a multi-mission platform concept. This approach involves hosting multiple payloads and conducting several experiments sequentially at different stages of the satellite’s operational life. The role of TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking & Command) was thoroughly investigated throughout all operational mission phases. This was achieved through literature reviews, numerical and analytical analyses, and hardware compatibility assessments with various subsystems, supported by scheduled updates and meetings.
Aerodynamic Engineer
UniNa Corse E-Team
Apr 2022 - Oct 2023
1 year 7 months
Naples, Metropolitan City of Naples, Italy
The final goal of this extra-academic activity was the development of an electric vehicle prototype, designed to support nationwide student testing initiatives. As a member of the Aerodynamics subdivision, the work focused on studying flow dynamics around key vehicle components, including: front wing, rear wing, underbody (floor). Both 2D and 3D models were analyzed through literature reviews, numerical simulations, and progress Tracking & Collaboration. To ensure alignment and report advancements, the team held weekly meetings within the sub-department, and monthly full-team meetings.
