What they need
Company context Rise is a fast-growing B2B Payroll SaaS company based in NYC, currently at $13M ARR and competing with Deel and Rippling. Their ICP is SMB companies, with an ambition to move upmarket. The existing team includes a Content Manager (SEO/GEO) and an incoming PMM. Acquisition is currently driven by SEO and outbound (managed by sales), with some partner activity. CRM is HubSpot.
Location: US-based strongly preferred — French profiles also considered
Engagement: Full-time freelance
Description We are looking for a hands-on Head of Growth to replace and elevate Rise's existing growth function. You will work directly with the CEO to own the full acquisition strategy — with a strong inbound focus and the ability to launch and scale paid from scratch. You will act as both a strategic and operational leader, aligning the growth, marketing and sales teams around shared revenue goals.
You will work in an English-speaking environment and must be fully comfortable operating in English.
Your mission
Define and drive a 360° growth strategy aligned with Rise's revenue objectives and upmarket ambition
Own and scale inbound acquisition — SEO, content-led growth, lifecycle and demand generation
Launch and manage paid acquisition channels from scratch (Google, LinkedIn, Meta)
Audit existing acquisition channels (SEO, outbound, partners) and identify the highest-impact growth opportunities
Build and prioritise a growth roadmap across acquisition, conversion and retention
Work closely with the Content Manager and incoming PMM to align messaging and demand gen execution
Support and complement the outbound motion currently led by the sales team
Improve CAC, conversion rates, pipeline contribution and overall revenue performance
Turn insights into actionable growth experiments and scalable plays

HubSpot CRM audit and data quality review
KPI framework definition aligned with upmarket ambition
Strategy & Roadmap
Inbound and demand generation strategy
Paid acquisition launch plan
Short- and mid-term growth planning
Execution & Coordination
Hands-on campaign and experiment deployment — especially on paid
Cross-team coordination with Content Manager, PMM and sales
Rapid validation before scaling
Optimization & Reporting
Continuous performance analysis
Iterative optimisation cycles
Direct reporting to CEO with clear recommendations
Stack & tools environment HubSpot (primary CRM), Google Analytics, paid platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta), SEO tools, and AI-driven optimisation across inbound and paid channels.
Profile wanted
Proven experience as Head of Growth or senior growth leader in a B2B SaaS environment
Strong inbound background — SEO, content-led growth, lifecycle marketing
Hands-on with paid media — able to launch and manage campaigns independently without an agency
Experience in a fast-growing startup (HR Tech, Payroll or Fintech is a plus)
Data-driven and experimentation mindset
Able to move from strategy to execution — this is a hands-on role
Comfortable working in HubSpot
US-based strongly preferred
Fluent in English — mandatory
